On March 5, 2015, the official opening of Statistical Information Centre took place in the conference and training room of Statistical Office in Opole, which was modernised as part of the project System of Public Statistics Information SISP-2.
The following persons were invited:
- Vice President of Statistics Poland Halina Dmochowska,
- Voivode of the Opolskie Voivodship Ryszard Wilczyński,
- Director of the Department of Regional and Spatial Policy of Marshal Office of the Opolskie Voivodship Iwona Mąkolska-Frankowska
- Director of the Branch of Social Security Insitution Krzysztof Trawiński,
- Director of the Office of Opole Agglomeration Krzysztof Początek,
- Professor Agata Zagórowska, habil. PhD from University of Opole,
- Director of the Department of Education Development in the Board of Education Maria Nowak,
as well as representatives of National Scientific Institute, Regional Centre for Social Policy, National Bank of Poland, Voivodship's Labour Office, Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski Subregion, Department of European Affairs and Planning Development in the Council of the City of Opole as well as other communities cooperating with the Office.
After welcoming ceremony participants by Acting Director of the Statistical Office in Opole Janina Kuźmicka, Vice President Halina Dmochowska delivered a lecture titled "Modernisation of Information Centres on the regional evel". Afterwards Director Janina Kuźmicka presented the effects of the introduced technological and functional changes to improve process of communication with the recipient of statistical data. Later in the meeting employees of the Opolski Centre for Regional Surveys: chief specialist Ewa Natrońska-Komar and senior specialist Sylwia Hulbój presented system solutions enabling broad and fast access to information resources of public statistics while the head of Opolski Centre for Regional Surveys Maria Mołodowicz delivered a speech titled "Information Centre as a centre of knowledge about the region". Later on Director Janina Kuźmicka presented information about demographic and socio-economic situation in Opolskie Voivodship.
In the summary of the official part of the meeting, Voivode of the Opolskie Voivodship Ryszard Wilczyński expressed his appreciation for the modernisation of the Statistical Information Center and shared system solutions. He also assured that he would make extensive use of offered public statistics solutions.
The presence of regional media was also hightlighted i.e. Radio Opole, Radio DOXA, NTO and TVP Opole, which described with great interest effects obtained after the modernisation of Statistical Information Centre in the Office.
