National Scientific Conference Contemporary challenges and threats to the demographic, social and economic situation of Silesia with particular emphasis on the agglomeration
A A AOn March 2, 2013, as part of the celebration of the International Year of the Statistics, the National Scientific Conference "Contemporary challenges and threats to the demograpic, social and economic situation of Silesia with particular emphasis of the agglomeration" was held. The conference was organised by Department of Strategic Studies and Socio-Economic Policy of Faculty of Economics of University of Opole in cooperation with Statistical Office in Opole, Voivodship's Labour Office and Regional Centre of Social Politics in Opole.
Conference was attended by i.a.: representatives of academic communities, public institutions, partners of the Agglomeration and students. Among invited guests were also Director of the Statistical Office in Katowice Aurelia Hetmańska and Deputy Director of Statistical Office in Wrocław Halina Woźniak.
Deputy Director of Statistical Office in Opole Janina Kuźmicka delivered a lecture on the topic of adapting Polish public statistics to the needs of modern recipient.
The conference was accompanied by the promotion of publications issued by Statistical Office in Opole and Statistics Poland.
